Letters Home plot

Things aren't going well for 9-year-old Scott Singleton. He's just arrived with his family in a sleepy Missouri town, but instead of the open arms he'd hoped for, he's met with suspicious looks. Making matters worse, his parents are completely oblivious to their son's fear, his teacher rules her class with an iron fist, and gym class is a brutal exercise in survival of the fittest. His fate seems sealed. But as the years pass, friendships form, and the neighbors slowly warm up to the newcomers in their midst.
