Le Grand Rôle plot
When a well-known American film director comes to Paris to cast a Yiddish version of Hamlet, Maurice and his friends decide to take their chance. Thinking he has the part, Maurice goes home to tell his wife Perla. When Maurice later discovers that the role will go to a well-known American actor, he does everything he can to hide this from his wife, who has become seriously ill in the meantime.
