La Mandarine plot
A family hotel, owned by an old matriarch, is operated by the husband of the eldest granddaughter. The arrival of a hip Englishman disrupts the family harmony as he becomes the lover of both granddaughters. The youngest turns out to be pregnant; her sister leaves the hotel with her relieved husband, but in the end cannot do without her family.
