Naples, the 1950s. Nicolino and Carmelina form a young couple in love who want to spend time together. However, Carmelina's happy and rather possessive mother makes that impossible, as does a meddling sister and a sassy aunt. To get rid of them, and to be together, they come up with various ruses.
