In the Nick plot

A progressive experimental prison without bars is run by a young psychiatrist, Dr. Newcombe, and the tough but fair Chief Prosecutor, Williams. Four hardened criminals, the Spider Gang, arrive at this minimum security facility. The leader, Spider Kelly, discovers that they are meant to be reformed, not punished. He plans to use this to his advantage and take control of the prison through manipulation.
