Hot Mess Holiday plot

Mel and Surina, two soul mates, begin their Diwali celebration at the Indo-American Center in Chicago. Mel's aunts and cousins ask how her engagement to her boyfriend Rishi is going. She praises him, but after going to see the traditional dance performance for Diwali with Rishi, her boyfriend dumps her in an epic public scene. The next day she is suspended by her boss and she is getting worse. Luckily for Mel, her best friend Surina is there to get things going and they're gearing up for a crazy weekend where things definitely don't go as planned.
