His New Profession plot
Charlie is hired by a man to drive his elderly disabled uncle through a seaside park. Although he starts his new job with enthusiasm, Charlie soon feels that he should earn extra money for his efforts so that he can go to the pub. To quickly collect some money, he puts a beggar's sign and a can on the wheelchair of the sleeping old man. A pretty girl, a real beggar, a park cop and the old man's nephew soon bring Charlie's job to an end.
