Her Bodyguard plot

"He didn't make much money but he had a lot of FUN!"

Actress Margot Brienne changed her name to Margaret O'Brian when she moved from Brooklyn. Two men have a crush on Margot: her show producer Lester Cunningham and her wealthy patron Orson Bitzer. When Orson gives her expensive jewelry, Margot jokingly says he must now hire a bodyguard to protect her. However, Orson takes Margot seriously and she sees it as a way to keep an eye on her and Lester sees it that way. Despite Margot's protests, Orson hires former boxer and now private detective Casey McCarthy. This is much to the delight of Margot's press agent Ballyhoo Bates, who considers it a perfect publicity stunt.
