Headbang Lullaby plot
On June 11, 1986, a day after Morocco made football history at the World Cup with a surprise victory over Portugal, government official Daoud is ordered to secure a bridge outside Casablanca that crosses an empty highway between two hostile communities. The expected but far from certain visit of King Hassan II is being looked forward to. Meetings with government supporters and the families of political prisoners and the mysterious appearance of a foreign woman and a Berber, as well as the story of a football-mad boy all turn out to be a bit much for Daoud. He has felt paralyzed since the bloody riots five years earlier. But the euphoria and hope he encounters here help lift his mood.
