A village in Norway is startled by the emergency landing of a plane containing the Americans Jimmy Hall and Duke Sargent. Jimmy is Duke's manager, who leads a band. An old Norwegian superstition has it that one of the airmen will now have to marry a resident of the village. Fate assigns Duke who will have to become Trudy Ericksen's husband-to-be. Duke, however, already has a girlfriend and flees to Paris. Trudy doesn't just give up on her husband-to-be and travels after him. When she arrives in America, she is taken care of by Jimmy.
