Directing duo Jasper ten Hoor and Ivan Hidayat return for a sequel and essentially pursue the same ambition, resulting in more or less the same end result. Overdrive picks up where the previous film left off and rarely deviates from the formula, so as a fan, you probably know immediately what to expect. Duncan Meijering remains the primary presence within this, knowing exactly where the balance should lie and managing to provide some fun humor a few times, though I must admit that there were laughs to be had on other fronts as well. The park is also nicely designed with sufficient dedication to create a fun atmosphere. It is a shame that the story itself has very little substance and lacks sufficient justification to add another chapter. The new robot is also a bit simple, but children will remain entertained regardless.
