Großglocknerliebe plot

Auto mechanic Uwe witnesses Johanna's suicide attempt. This one has parked her car in the middle of a railroad crossing after she caught her boyfriend in the act with her best friend. Uwe, himself abandoned by his girlfriend Sabine, can save Johanna, but in the process drives his Opel Kadett to scrap. Johanna is admitted to a psychiatric hospital, where her peculiar uncle is also locked up. But quite coincidentally, Uwe can get both of them out of the institution. The somewhat crazy, but sweet Uncle Henry, thinks he is a knight and believes that he must necessarily unite with Johanna's deceased mother. But this is only possible once every seven years, when the Großglockner, Austria's highest mountain, is accessible.
