Grand Slam plot
The waiter Peter Stanislavski is a former writer. When he marries Marcia, he learns bridge to satisfy his wife's wishes, when he actually thinks it's a childish game. Marcia's friends all play this game passionately, but often argue about whether the game is being played correctly. One evening, Peter is asked to be a waiter at a bridge night hosted by Lola Starr.
