Grand Slam plot
The waiter Peter Stanislavski is a former writer. When he marries Marcia, he learns bridge to satisfy his wife's wishes, when he actually thinks it's a childish game. Marcia's friends all play this game passionately, but often argue about whether the game is being played correctly. One evening, Peter is asked to be a waiter at a bridge night hosted by Lola Starr. Peter is then asked if he would like to play bridge at the table of bridge expert Cedric Van Dorn. There Peter comes up with an unusual way of playing...
