Gone Are the Days! plot

A young, idealistic man returns to the plantation where he grew up in slavery. He brings his betrothed, Lutiebelle, with him in hopes of convincing the plantation owner that she is his niece. That way he could safeguard the family's legacy. Relatives Missy and Gitlow, and son of the plantation owners, the endearing (but unsuccessful) Charlie, make for some funny entanglements.
