Gli Eroi del Doppio Gioco plot
A fascist leader of a town, in central Italy, and two of his sons are active defenders of fascism. Benito, the third son, returns wounded from the Russian front. The bitter experience of the war allows him to see the false and opportunistic attitude of his family. In Bologna he meets Luciana, the daughter of a fascist commander. Shortly afterwards, when Benito decides to join the supporters, Luciana follows him. At the end of the war, Benito's family tries to hide their past political activities and betrays their fellow fascists.
