Henry and Liane Clausen's marriage is not going well. As a eager publisher, Henry is too preoccupied with his career, causing him to neglect his wife Liane. To overcome her husband's indifference, Liane begins an affair with Victor Armstrong. In this way she wants to arouse the jealousy of Henry. But Henry reacts very differently than expected: instead of making a scene, he also starts an affair.
