Footlight Serenade plot
"SOMETHING TO SING ABOUT! LAUGH ABOUT! SHOUT ABOUT! THE MIRACLE MUSICAL OF THE YEAR!"
The cocky boxing champion Tommy Lundy (Victor Mature) has his eye on the beautiful Pat Lambert (Betty Grable), a singer on a Broadway show. Bill Smith (John Payne), Pat's boyfriend, is offered a part by Tommy in his new Broadway boxing show, where he is supposed to fight Tommy. However, when he discovers Tommy that Pat and Bill are more than just friends, he is furious and plans to really teach Bill a lesson during the show.
