Scotty Pelk is a socially disadvantaged young man with a passion for all things film, in fact Scotty is a walking film encyclopedia. When one day he gets fired from the video store where he works, he wants to show his surroundings that he really knows a lot about the film world and he starts a career as an online film critic.
