Feather Your Nest plot

Assistant recording director Willie Piper and his girlfriend work at the recording studio MonarchGramophone Co, get married and want to buy a house. Willie just struggles to scrape together the money for all of this. A popular crooner, Rex Randall, comes to the studio to record his new hit "Leaning on a Lampost," but clumsy Willie drops the irreplaceable wax master copy, leaving it irreparably damaged. To cover up his mistake, Willie sneaks into the studio at night and replaces the master copy with one on which he sings the song himself, with dire consequences.
