Floyd Hilston has a close bond with his pet, the lion Fagan. Floyd gets into trouble when he's called up by the military. Unable to sell Fagan to an untrustworthy circus trainer, Floyd asks his sergeant Kellwin to help him find a good home for his pet. At first, Kellwin doesn't believe Floyd's request. Kellwin does not believe Floyd until Fagan has escaped from his cage and he must send his Company-J to find him. Thanks to the publicity, the army finds a good home for Fagan. Unfortunately, the faithful Fagan again escapes to look for his master. Fagan then causes chaos during the maneuvers of the troops.
