"Finding your roots in the hood ain't easy."

Julian, a Chinese boy, has been adopted by a dark family. The family (Joe and Annabelle Lee) and also adopted business student May-Ling are now his new family. He's trying to fit in in one of South Central's blackest neighborhoods.
