"WOO WOO! WHAT FUN! - ACHOO! WHAT MUSIC! -WOW..HOO! WHAT GIRLS!"
The American Beauty Association is about to hold its annual trade show in New York City. Songwriter Tiny Lewis just sold a song to Ina Ray Hutton, the leader of an all-girl band, the show's headliner. Lewis shares an apartment with Bradley Miller and Michele, an artist, and Miller just invented a non-smudging lipstick he calls "Rosebud." While looking for a place for his booth at the fair, Miller is told by the scheming J. Webster Hackett, who plans to sell a large order of lipstick to buyer Edgar Pomeroy, that it will cost him $1,000 to join the association and get a stand. That's more than Miller and his roommates have combined.
