Sherry Graham is a self-destructive makeup saleswoman who lives by her own rules. During the day she confidently sells makeup products, but at night she hangs out in bars picking up men. She reads many self-help books for inspiration and watches old black-and-white films to escape the suburban environment in which she finds herself. Sharry is estranged from her family, but after an ultimatum from her sister, the tide seems to be turning.
