Erwin Tucke is an otherworldly poet who barely earns his living from rhymes for postcards. His wedding day is approaching and to earn a few extra cents he writes a schlager for the bar singer Kitty. In the bar he overhears three crooks talking about the horse toto. To impress them, he gives them a tip. If that tip also turns out to be worth gold, Erwin suddenly has three friends.
