De Ordonnans plot

From childhood Bobbejaan dreams of Buffalo Bill, cowboys and Indians and as an adult he decides to go to the big city in his cowboy costume with guitar under his arm to test his success as a song singer. However, luck is not on his side and he will get a job as a singer in a bar. There he meets Professor Dreistein who sends Bobbejaan back to the past with a time machine. He ends up in Napoleon's headquarters in the year 1801 where he falls in love with Colette. This is much to the chagrin of Francine, the assistant of the professor, who all the while follows his experiences via the time machine.
