Das Ferienkind plot

Retired stationmaster Vincent Panigel does not want to know anything more about his daughter Heidi and her family, because she is married to the Hamburg waiter Müller. Panigel's housekeeper Emma and his friend, the teacher Stockhammer, try to change this by letting his grandson Hans stay with him as a so-called holiday child. Panigel is interested in these tomboys, partly because his two unmarried loafers of cousins, who have been living with him for free for years, want him to 'sell' his house to them.
