Dancing on a Dime plot
"IT'S A MUSICAL METEOR!"
Director Ted Brooks and comedians Jack Norcross, Dandy Joslyn and Phil Miller are part of a group of promising young actors rehearsing for a WPA show at the Garrick Theatre in New York. They are dismayed when the government pulls their funding on the day of the show's dress rehearsal. Penniless, the troupe plans to return home when Mac, a stage doorman, offers to let four of the men, Phil, Dandy, Jack and Ted, use the theatre as a boarding house. After accepting Mac's offer, they meet amateur actress Lorie Fenton from Cleveland, who is eager to audition for them.
