Veronika lives with her alcoholic mother and her stepfather. One day her stepfather is drunk, chases Veronika to the roof and falls to the ground. Being a gambler, he leaves quite a bit of debt and the creditors are now harassing Veronika to get their money back. She expects little help from her alcoholic mother, so Veronika goes on a journey in search of good people.
