Comin' Round the Mountain plot

After a strike in New York, musician Jed Blower and his family band return to their beloved hometown of Tennessee. Here they get a job at a radio station, in a community that is rather ravaged by a long-standing family feud. The ongoing political tug-of-war over the maintenance of the city's poorhouse is also causing local concerns. Hoping to solve everyone's problems, Jed runs for mayor, using the radio station as his stage.
