Casanova in Burlesque plot

An apparently dull professor secretly works as a comedian in a nightclub during the summer. However, the professor, who usually teaches Shakespeare, is discovered by a girl who works at the nightclub. She blackmails him and threatens to betray his double life unless she is allowed to play the title role in his production of the play 'The Taming of the Shrew'.
