Joanna Tate travels from her Pennsylvania home to a plantation in the South to retrieve the belongings of her late father, who worked as a farmer for many years. When she arrives there, Joanna discovers that plantation owner Bob Connelly has fallen into disarray. She falls in love with his son Will and together they try to restore the farm to its former glory.
