Brigands, Chapitre VII plot

Vano is king of a beautiful little country, so rich that all neighboring countries are jealous. However, he is surrounded by hypocritical and treacherous court servants. Even his wife, Queen Eka, cheats on him. Five centuries later, in a small country behind the Iron Curtain, Vano is a pickpocket who joins the beautiful Eka to join her in the revolutionary cause. They manage to move up the ladder, but Vano is once again confronted with discontent, jealousy and betrayal. The country is in the grip of a civil war. Vano can't even go out for a drink with someone without risking his own life. He is drawn to the City of Light because he has heard that life is good there...
