"For those who hear their clock ticking..."
Gena has a good relationship with her boyfriend James. They sometimes think about having children, but at the same time they fear giving up their careers. Suddenly Gena meets her old flame Anthony, who makes her a surprising proposal. A short time later, Gena suspects she is pregnant. She ends up at a party where women in their thirties and forties talk about why they do or don't want to have children. The film consists partly of interviews with women about men, sex, motherhood and career.
