Almost a Lady plot

Marcia, a beautiful young girl, goes to work as a model for a voluptuous owner of a clothing store. She resists his advances, despite the fact that he gives her expensive gifts. One day, Mrs. Reilly, a prominent society woman and a customer of the store, invites Marcia to a party she is giving. Marcia poses as a famous writer to impress a "duke" for Mrs. Reilly, who does not know that the "duke" is not really a duke. Complications ensue.
