In addition to his studies, 20-year-old musician Peter has a temporary job in the company of Director General Steiner. When he hires him to perform for his party, Peter sees his great opportunity. Just one day before the party, his widowed mother Sylvia meets the charming Bernd Werding. To impress him, she lies about her age and gets into trouble when Werding visits her home. Not to betray his mother's age, Peter walks dressed as a 14-year-old boy, something that quickly leads to complications, especially when Peter falls in love with Steiner's beautiful daughter Kitty.
