Ajomies plot

The driver of a starter car, who keeps the horses at an equal distance at the start of a race, teaches the tough Mari the tricks of the trade. Slowly a romance develops. Difficult, because he lives with Riikka, Mari's grandniece. A few times the two try to end the affair, but in vain. When Riikka gets a job out of town – which includes moving house – decisions have to be made.
