In the dry season, a single mother of three struggles to survive on a nearly bankrupt Australian farm. That is no easy task after the death of her husband and father of her children. However, fourteen-year-old Hazel does everything he can to keep the farm going and her younger relatives on track. It doesn't seem to be a merry Christmas. But then a man dressed as Santa Claus with a car full of gifts crashes into the family's property.
