A Likely Story plot
"Lady, your intentions are showing!"
After a routine medical examination, former soldier Bill Baker overhears a conversation between two doctors, leading him to the wrong conclusion that he is doomed to die of a rare heart condition. Bill wants to fulfill the wishes of aspiring artist Vickie North by helping her realize her dream of a successful future. He takes out a large life insurance policy and then asks mobsters Louie and Tiny to kill him for a fee so that Vickie and her younger brother Jamie can immediately collect the life insurance money. Things get complicated when Bill finds out he's safe and sound and tries to get out of his bargain with the mobsters. But both gangsters want to keep the agreement.
