Duke White, an inveterate gambler, hasn't exactly been a good father to his five sons. At the end of his rope, he kills himself in Niagara Falls. Years ago, however, he gave up his three oldest sons for drug tests, with dire consequences: their life expectancy has been substantially shortened. Now that they've heard the bad news, they each deal with the approaching death in their own way. Skirt hunter Cal has his sights set on Miranda, the only girl he ever let down. The cautious Jacob, with his younger brother Todd by his side, is determined to take risks he never dared before. And finally there's Nuts, a boxer turned promoter who now wants to enter the ring one last time...
