Winnie plot
"Her courage inspired a nation."
The film follows the life of Winnie Mandela (Jennifer Hudson), wife of South African leader Nelson Mandela (Terrence Howard), from her meeting with Nelson to how she survived while her husband was imprisoned and she was charged with misconduct. From the 1960s to the 1980s, Winnie Mandela was widely admired as a symbol of the anti-apartheid struggle in South Africa. She faced harsh reprisals for the faith of her husband Neslon with whom she lived for only 5 weeks before he was captured for the first time. During her final years in prison, she emerged as a leading opponent of the white minority government.
