Vindication Swim plot

Mercedes Gleitze is a young swimmer from Brighton with German roots. In the 1920s, she attempts to become the first British woman to cross the Channel. However, she constantly faces snobbery, sexism, and xenophobia. Her main rival is the haughty Edith Gade, a notorious con artist.
