A good film about a young woman who starts working for a tech startup. At first, the film seems a bit like a true story of rise and fall, but it's more about sexism in the workplace and victim blaming. The film remains fairly lighthearted and therefore a bit superficial. It's entertaining nonetheless, and therefore just barely earns 3.5 stars.

Powerful drama. The story is quite interesting, timely, and full of emotion. The execution is excellent. The film is easy to watch, drawing you in from the beginning and holding you back until the very end. Goldenberg creates a beautiful blend of lightheartedness and drama, which also manages to resonate with the viewer. Besides the drama, it's also interesting to see Wolfe's thoughts on the apps and their success, even after a setback. James conveys everything well and delivers a beautiful, believable performance. Recommended! 4.0

A captivating film that (I think) stays fairly close to the original. Of course, the film is told from one perspective.

It's shocking to see the culture in these kinds of successful tech startups. I suspect the same problems arise in many such successful startups: growing too fast, too much money, too little experience, and a lack of leadership. The acting is excellent, and the film remains captivating (it never falters). I wasn't familiar with Whitney's story, so I didn't know the ending either. Otherwise, the film follows the standard patterns of similar films. Still, it's interesting to gain insight into this world. I wonder who will still be swiping on Tinder without a bitter aftertaste after seeing this film. 3.5 stars.
