Ruffian plot
"Champions live forever."
A look into the life of the purebred horse Ruffian who caused a furore in the world of horse racing in the early 1970s. Ruffian competes for the prestigious Triple Crown. She will be up against the favourite, Foolish Pleasure. In the early 1970s, the public was no longer interested in the boring horse races. What the sport needed was a super-fast horse: Ruffian. Under the inspiring leadership of coach Frank Whiteley (Sam Shepard), she was the fastest horse on the track. The exciting story is told through the eyes of sports reporter Bill Nack (Frank Whaley), who was a great admirer of Ruffian.
