Rocky Marciano plot
A young man with only one dream; get out of the poor environment in which he grew up. To avoid having to work in a shoe factory where his father (Geoge C. Scott) has worked all his life, he decides to become a boxer. With barely any technique but blessed with a granite jaw and a deadly right fist, he is noticed during his first professional match by the dodgy boxing promoter All Weil and the mafioso Carbo. After a match in which Rocky nearly kills an opponent, he decides to quit, but his all-consuming fear of remaining poor brings him back into the ring, against his greatest opponent yet: his idol Joe Louis.
