Nobody's Child plot
The film tells the true life story of Marie Balter who at the age of sixteen; after years of abuse and neglect; is admitted to a psychiatric institution. The diagnosis is schizophrenia and Marie; who hardly eats; can't talk and can't walk; is given up by her doctors. However, there is one doctor who refuses to abandon her and begins a very arduous and painful treatment. Some twenty years later, Marie leaves that institution and bravely embarks on a whole new life.
