Inch'Allah Dimanche plot
For years, Zouina lived separately from her husband: she with the children with her family in Algeria, he among his colleagues in gloomy guest houses somewhere in France. When the 'family reunification law' of 1974 is enacted, she travels after him, accompanied by their children and her tyrannical mother-in-law, to a terraced house somewhere in northern France. Once arrived, it appears that her husband has become a stranger to her, while mother-in-law turns out to be an even bigger witch than she already was. The new neighbours, who win the prize for the most beautiful garden year after year, are not eager for Zouina and her children to play and fear the worst for their begonias. The only ones she can expect to smile from are her other free-spirited neighbor (Seigner), the grocer and the bus driver.
