January 1971. Hollywood legend Steve McQueen reluctantly makes a deal with his agent. He chooses his next role on one condition: his agent must help him find the iconic Ford Mustang GT 390 from his groundbreaking film Bullitt. On his journey back to Los Angels through the desert, Steve ponders his triumphs and losses. A crumbling marriage, therapy, financial problems and a waning career. As Steve eventually discovers the car's location, he is confronted with something far more meaningful.
