Seen at the Go Short festival as an Oscar nomination. The animation style is truly beautiful! It is like looking at a stop-motion painting. The story, on the other hand, takes a turn that appeals to me less, with WWII. It is not told abstractly, but quite concretely; this takes the emphasis and detracts from the enjoyment/attention of the drawing style. And that is a shame. The fact that it ultimately turns out to be a true story makes no difference to me.
