"No socks are safe"

The Oddsockeaters are small creatures that live next door to us unknowingly. They are responsible for lost socks of which we only have one pair left, the odd sock. They eat socks, but only one of each pair. When Hihlik's grandfather dies, he has to climb out the window to search the human world for his uncle.
