Balentes plot

The story is set in Sardinia in 1940. When two boys learn that the island’s horses are to be sold to the military, they hatch a plan to release the animals and free them from certain death on the battlefield. Betrayed by a local villain, the boys are pursued by a militia, with tragic consequences.
